As of November 1, 2006 the Securities Industry Association and The Bond Market Association merged to become the Securities Industry & Financial Markets Association (SIFMA). Each year SIFMA (formerly the SIA) hosts its annual Technology Management Conference & Exhibit. On June 19-21, SIFMA’s 27th annual Technology Management Conference & Exhibit featured over 300 vendors and 7,000 attendees. The conference addressed the rapidly-changing world of technology and how the financial industry is using technology to drive productivity, comply with regulatory requirements, and adapt to converging markets, products and investors.
This 2007 program put forth an informative and educational program designed expressly for individuals within securities firms who have management responsibility for technology-based support activities, including: communications, market data, information security, trading room support, web and Internet technology and information systems. The three general sessions, 10 workshops, luncheon speaker and Exhibit were all aimed at giving attendees the information needed to become more effective at their firms.
